Catheter leakage post RALP

Hi all,

had my RALP last Wednesday (07/01/26) and was discharged yesterday afternoon.

Wound healing nicely, no real pain and feeling positive.

My only issue is that I have a fairly constant leakage from where the catheter exits my penis.

It feels like I want to pass water normally with a bit of a burning sensation and this is when I have leakage.

My bag is filling well, without being aware of it, but this is negatively affecting my sleep and also my daily comfort.

Anyone having/had similar experiences and any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

cheers, John

  • Hi John

I had a small amount of leakage also, which eased off after a while. Best contact your urology nurse if it continues

  • Hello John (

is correct, there should be no leakage from the catheter - you need to contact your team and advise them of the issue ASAP.

    Best wishes- Brian.

  • Hi.   I had a little bit of leakage but this was very minor and only once or twice more so when I sat on the toilet.   I’d go back to your nurses or gp.    Simon
