LH had his urodynamics test today. As his peeing has been so much better lately I felt optimistic that it would be ok but no, they say there is an obstruction. It will be up to the consultants whether to do a TURP or try to treat it with meds ( he is already on Tamsulosin). So we wait to hear from him - I hate waiting!
Either way it looks like his RT is likely to be delayed; it was supposed to start end of March. This is such a roller coaster!
sorry to rant!
Karen
Hello Karen (Dogs4me )
i had a TURP in 2022 and it worked for me (read my profile for the details). It's painless and does involve an overnight in hospital but to me well worth the time and effort. Details here:
Happy to answer any questions.
Best wishes - Brian.

Karen (Dogs4me ), you are correct in saying it is a roller coaster. However, your team seem to be doing the right things and HT will be getting OH ready for RT when it comes. I really don’t think a delay harms at this stage although it is mental torture while waiting. Stay positive.
Best wishes, David
Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.
Thanks Brian
Sorry for late reply; not been feeling too well (not drink related!).
I see from your bio that you had a spinal block and RT started about 2 months after. If he can get his op (if they decide it is needed) fairly soon it may not delay things too much . The irony was that he was pleased he was having RT as it avoided surgery ( he wasn't offered surgery, not sure why) and he will potentially have had two surgeries in order for RT to proceed by the time it gets here!
we have noticed that a telephone appointment has turned up on the portal which is with the consultant on 20th Jan so I guess we will know more then.
Thanks again
Thanks David
LH is pretty down atm as he has just recovered from hernia repair which had to be carried out before RT and now he potentially has to have another surgery. But if it has to be done it has to be done.
Got phone appointment with consultant on 20th so will know more then hopefully.
Thanks again.
