Unexpected rise in psa

PSA is a guide in the early days of aggressive and for all the days of the lesser stages of prostate cancer as I’ve been able to glean.

Its not much use for me at 360 at stage 4 aggressive but is very much more useful for gaging the stability of early diagnosis and the lowered stages where three test analyses do assist in diagnosing increasing or diminishing activity of the cancer.

three upward or downward tests in a row are trends that become part of the diagnosis plan and something to look for. Stability is what you’re looking for, not so much what the number is. Stability is as it says, stable, at whatever number.

I’d like to be stable at 360 right now.

In simple terms in means the docetaxel has more than likely wiped out most of the little sods but you still have some somewhere that are still producing PSA and therefore alive. The CT scan etc will be to locate them.

Sometimes the cancer becomes resistant to one type of medication so your team move onto a new one. Trust your team and stay positive. Like you my PSA is rising and I am back on treatment - it's not an exclusive club!! .
