Darolutamide and heart murmur

Hi all.  I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer with bone mets in November 2025.  Gleason 4 + 5 = 9.  I am having 'triplet therapy' which is chemotherapy, darolutamide and zoladex.  Chemo has finished.  I've been on the zoladex for about 11 months and darolutamide for 9 months.  All is seemingly going 'well' but... a heart murmur has been discoved and my consultant has stopped my darolutamide until the results of an echogram.

Does anyone have experience of heart problems with the medication/treatment that I'm on - or any other thoughts   Thanks?

  • Hello

I can't answer your question myself and noticed your post had gone unanswered after 2 full days and was at the bottom of page 2.

By me replying it will be "bumped up" to the top of page 1 and I hope seen and answered by someone who has had the same experience.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Good afternoon.

Like Brian above, this is not a problem that I can directly speak to.

However, it does seem that the class of drugs that darolutamide belongs to all have some propensity to cause cardiac problems.

Darolutamide is maybe the least of these.

However, there are still alternatives.so there is hope from that.

I wonder if your consultant has ordered an echogram (echocardiogram?) to work out what is actually going on. If the answer is "not much" then he may resume it.

Once again, the waiting game hurts mentally.

Still, there is one thing that you can take as positive. You can keep going, because it seems that is what you consultant is going to do.

    Best wishes to you.

    Steve
