My dad has been diagnosed with prostate cancer that he has (for various reasons) decided not to get treated for. This has now caused spinal compression and he has lost the use of his legs.
I am just wondering what the next symptoms might be so that I have an awareness and can prepare myself?
Hello AJ25c328b
Welcome to the group, although I am so sorry to find you joining us under these circumstances. I am aware you most likely know all about SCC but here's a link to our information anyway:
Everyone reacts to to the the symptoms and medication/treatment in a different way so it's impossible to answer your question fully. Dad should be supported by his palliative care team and they should be able to give you the answers you seek.
I am sorry I can't be more specific - if you can come back to us with details of dad's medication and treatment plan we may be able to give you more help and advice.
Remember our support line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) id there for both you and dad and I would urge you to give them a call.
Best wishes - Brian.
