Twenty four days after the completion of my RT.
Back to the Dr's today for my 6 monthly Decapeptyl SR injection. Right buttock and it flipping hurts at the moment. Also discussed my total disinterest in sex and the lack of any erection. The nurse has now made me an appointment with the GP for next Thursday to discuss any options, pumps, whatever. I shall update
I continue on my Abiraterone, Evacal D6 and Prednisone each day. The sweats can be prolific on some days and negligible others. I also feel exhausted on some days, but not as often as on previous occasions.
I am only up once a night now to try to empty my bladder and the cystitis symptoms are all but gone, then they pop back just to remind me. As for my bowel, I keep risking spicy food and keep regretting it, will I never learn?
My last PSA was a staggering >0.02 (originally 49) and I don't see the Oncologist again until the first week of December. So I have a dental appointment and then off to Dubai, AD and RAK, returning for my Oncology in December, gosh I have missed travel
Mentally - I was about to say I have had a complete "C" change, but it occasionally pops into the back of my mind. However, the vast majority of the time, I don't even think about having it, which is great.
So, onward and upward.
Hello KJ911
Everything looks good apart from the ED issues and sweats. For the sweats I find Sage Tablets work for me and I haven't had a sweat for a couple of years now .
I can't see the GP providing any help regarding sex and the ED as Decapeptyl is pretty good at clearing out your testosterone - but good luck anyway. Two links I give out with ED issues are:
Your-sex-life/erection-problems-sexual-well-being.
And this thread from the General Cancer Chat Group, has some good posts:
I hope the above helps.
Enjoy Dubai - I am not jealous, honest .
Best wishes - Brian.
