Hi I'm new here. In the last 6 weeks we have gone from blood in urine to the above I've been rather pushy over the tests and we have managed to get on a cancellation list tomorrow for his rigid cystoscopy and biopsy.

Bone scan shows mets the other results aren't in yet. We obviously are devastated we're told it's advanced and a grade 4 so far. My husband has a strong faith but is worried about me our daughter anPraygrandson he leaves behind because of the state of the country. I'm still hoping for a miracle and hope treatment gets us a few more years together. Any positive news of others in this situation woulPraybe very welcome Pray 1

  • Hello Blodwen (

Welcome to the group although I am so sorry to find you joining us. Whilst you haven't got all his results it does sound like you are expecting him to be treatable but not curable.

Faith and a positive attitude can be half the battle here - the other half being the team giving you the treatment and just how you respond to it.

Prostate cancer treatments have come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years and I may well be jumping the gun here but he sounds like an ideal candidate for the "Triplet Therapy" treatment - we do have some Community members on this and it's working very well. I do hope some will be along soon with their experience of the treatment.

As you are embarking on this journey many Community members write a profile - this helps you remember where you have been and other members know just where you are on the journey. To do this on your home page, click on the chair - top right, then "profile" and then "edit". Don't forget to save it once you have written something. (if you click on my name or avatar you can read mine to get some ideas!),

A fact to remember is 98% of men diagnosed with Prostate Cancer die WITH prostate cancer not OF it!!

We are all here for you - ask anything you want - someone will have an answer.

  • Hi Blodwen, My husband is on the triplet therapy, he was diagnosed in March 24 and so far is doing really well. We don't know the prognosis because the triplet therapy is pretty new but have been told it could help for a few years. If you click on my name it will show you our story.

    All the best.

  • Thankyou that's really helpful i hope your husband is continuing to do well Blush
