New Scans tomorrow

After my last telephone conversation with the Oncologist he decided I needed a new CT and Bone scan

These are booked for tomorrow. I'm impressed with the NHS as they are booked at the local hospital in different departments on the same day.

They booked them at the same time - but they can't be expected to get everything right.  At least I don't have a 100 mile round trip this time.

Part of me hopes they find something as I've been getting increasing pain in the hip that they zapped with radio therapy last year but that means the cancer is growing even though my PSA has been <0.03 for months and the other part of me hopes they don't find anything, in which case what's causing it?

It's very stressful at the moment.

Then I wont find out until 25th November when I speak to the consultant again.

  • Good morning

I am with you there - I have an increasing PSA and the NHS have been superfast in organising scans etc - it's the wait time between the scans and the results meeting 7 weeks - I am lucky though as i don't stress.

With your low PSA let's hope they do find something and it's not the Prostate Cancer - something that can easily be fixed - I hope you don't need a hip replacement!!

Good luck with your results and please do keep us posted.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi  If any cancer is found I would be very surprised.  Pain is more likely to be associated with RT or just some other age related benefit.  You will be fine.

    Best wishes, David
