Pain when peeing after radiotherapy

Hi Stef2b9351 , that’s a great post and I am sure will help others.  The problem we face when having painful peeing is we tend to drink less, but generally with a UTI or acid, less fluid intake the more concentrated the pee is and the worse it is.  How long have you been prescribed for?

Thank you David. I have been given 4 days worth. I will get some more after that, but at some point I will try doing without them to see if my bladder has calmed down a bit. The dosage in the boxes at the Pharmacy (also for Cistopuren) is for 2 days. This is because it’s mainly used for cystitis, which I’m assuming would clear up after a couple of days, with antibiotics?

I was visiting the bathroom 5 times a night during RT, with significant discomfort when trying to pee. The radiologist told me to avoid anything that can aggravate your bladder, so tea and coffee need to be decaf, and no orange juice.

Yes I was told that too - but I hadn’t had any of those drinks for weeks! Didn’t make any difference, unfortunately.
