First RT today. Had an enormous melt down Monday, slept 16 hrs, cleared the air with the deep down issues discussed with my wife. So 4:45pm today had my first RT.

Feel excellent. Went to bed early, Anxiety drop and last night saw little sleep. Just awake for a water and set the alarm ready for tomorrow. Thank goodness this has started.

  • Yes its all a bit of an emotional roller coaster!! great you've got RT started the job IS getting done best of luck pal.

  • Hello

The 20 fractions will pass very quickly and when they are over you will wonder where the time went - oh and what do I do with all this spare time?

Great that you have started the treatment - remember it's killing those nasty cancer cells!

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi KJ911,

I guess by now you have had your 2nd session & hopefully you now feel you can start to relax as you get into a routine.

One thing I did was to allow myself a little treat each day that I had RT which was a reward to my body for giving those cancer cells another kicking (that was my excuse anyway).

The rest will soon fly by.

    Best Wishes

    Brian

  • 3 down, 17 to go, also oncology appointment today, he is very happy thus far, "we are where we need to be", I almost came over emotional, then I received an advent calendar with tea bags from my daughter, to count down ( I have not had alcohol ).

She also sent a huge bunch of flowers to my wife - because this is difficult for her also.

Feeling as if we are making progress - it's a good feeling.
