After a 5 week wait I finally got my biopsy results, I’m normally relaxed about 3 monthly psa tests and yearly mri tests but 5 weeks wait for the biopsy results I was starting to get impatient
Anyway the good news is out of the 12 samples taken there was no cancer showing, how lucky am I .
I will be staying on A/S which I’m quite happy about and that will be 3 years ive been on A/S
I saw consultant last week and run through results which I knew already as I got results from my doctor.
Ive also got a telephone appointment with a senior consultant on Friday who I respect a lot , I’m expecting he will explain again why A/S is in his opinion the right choice for me at this time .
Best wishes to everyone on here , I know it’s hard dealing with prostate cancer and so far I’m one of the lucky ones but try and stay positive
Good news Fleet and your PSA is not really increasing.
I was on AS for 4 years in 2013 and my PSA went from about 4 to 13 in that time.
2017 tumour near the gland edge so treatment started.
Only thing I would say is keep your eye on tumour size , hopefully your have a MRI at least every year or two.
Obviously they should be checking all that anyway but always good to keep an eye yourself
Good luck
Steve
