Hi all had my 3 monthly injection yesterday and I've felt really rubbish today  I'm breathless and have to keep taking deep breaths, has anyone else experienced this ?

  • Hi  , apologies but I can’t remember if you have been on HT long.  My gut feeling is that this isn’t connected to the injection itself but more to anxiety.  I am extremely laid back and never panic and rarely worry about my PCa but I know I am building anxiety prior to appointments although I can’t physically notice it.  With any unexpected reaction I would get it checked out by the professionals.  I notice that your post is from yesterday, so hopefully after a nights sleep you are feeling better today.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • I can only say that I have not encountered this.

As David says, those things can be a symptom of anxiety, but I think I would have a chat with my GP to be sure.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • If you’re breathless and getting anxious phone 111 immediately.

It’s very unlikely to be because of an injection unless you are allergic to it. Is this your first or have you had it or the monthly one before?

    Seek clinical advice.

  • I know the feeling well.

I’m sorry your suffering. I had 3hrs of it last night and it wears me out - you too I bet.

Stay sedentary and pop a pill in your pocket if you’re allowed.

    Best wishes.

  • Cheers mate what meds are you on ?

  • Just put onto Sotolol a month ago.

Was on Bisoprolol for 5 years before that.

  • That's what they have put me on and blood thinners

  • Sotolol 80mgs is working ok on the whole.

I’ve had a few events but mostly the pills have stopped the bugger before it settles in to a full blow AFib nightmare.

I was told to go to A&E if I have AFib and a symptom (or two) otherwise stay at home. So if you’re breathless and in AFib just get yourself checked out.

Slowing the hearts pace and getting it back to sinus rhythm is not easy and even though you’re now on anticoagulants it’s an added risk and stress on your ticker.

    Go easy there Mace

  • Do you have a beer I noticed I got a bit breathless if I had 1 I've stopped now as my radiotherapy starts a week on Monday
