Well, PSA results are back and it's up again as expected, now at 3.80.

Further blood tests ordered to test my testosterone (I can tell them it's back without a test Innocent) and liver and kidney function and a PSMA PET Scan is being ordered.

I will keep you all updated - I know now after 3.5 years why they call this a "journey"

Thank you all for your comments and good wishes and continued support across the entire Community.

Best wishes

  • And going on as long as possible

  • Hello All

So my CT scan review (Scan was on 8 September) was a face to face this morning with the Oncologist. She was pleased to tell me the cancer has remained stable within the gland (even with my various high PSA readings).

Considering I am close to 4 years on this journey I feel I am a "very luck boy".

I have had a PSA and testosterone test today and should have those results tomorrow.

Moving forward I am back on HT but the plan moving forward is 3 monthly PSA tests and when (if) they start to drop off we will try "intermittent hormone therapy" - the first review of this plan at 9 and 12 months.

I started back on HT on 22 September and as I put on over 3 stone in 3 years HT last time on 11 October I had my first Ozempic jab (watch out for a slim me!).

That is the best news I could have had and I am so grateful to the continued support from my team at The Christie, Oldham, members of this Community, the Online Community Team Staff and my wife Lorraine and family who have all played their part in me being where I am now.

Thanks everyone - you are all Star2Star2's.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Such wonderful news Brian, made my day. With my warmest wishes Hugging

  • I totally agree with my friend  - this has been a brilliant snippet of news! “Stable within the gland” sounds like a high secreting, slow growing type prostate cancer.  May it stay forever lazy!  AW

  • Fantastic news Brian

    So pleased for you both

i am also on 6 monthly Decapeptyl.1 year now .had my 3 rd jab last week and a PSA test  . Despite an RAPR last August it’s escaped and I’m not suitable for RT so it’s HT for life  .The HT must be working as , remarkably, my PSA level has dropped to <0.01 from <0.03 in early July

We also and at last mage to get abroad for a great week in Tuscany

    Life is good !

  • Hi

    Absolutely brilliant news!ClapClapClap

    Lorraine

  • Hi Brian, all things considered, that is very good news. The buggers haven't left home and you can keep them there with HT, under careful watch. Let us know your new PSA.

    Best wishes, Tom

  • That is wonderful news Brian.

  • Great News Brian - keep up the sterling work!

Both in terms of beating this blasted disease and what you do for us here.
