Hi everyone,
Just thought I’d give an update on my situation. After waiting for 4 weeks I contacted a nurse yesterday to ask about my bone scan results. I was expecting a call yesterday but after a stressful night I was contacted today about 2pm. I was told all seems ok apart from something on my 8th rib and was asked if I’d injured it recently. I did fall down the stairs last year ( slightly drunk ) and she said this was could be the cause. She also mentioned my left ankle which I actually snapped last year. I have read about rib Mets and it said it unusual for it to spread to just one rib, so after a really stressful few weeks I am actually looking for to my oncologist meeting on may28 to get on a pathway. Thanks to all who have replied to my often paranoid posts over the last few weeks. The help from those pages has been really comforting, informative and positive. Thanks to all involved. BTW. I’m not going away. Haha.
Cheers,
Simon
Hello Simon64,
I had a PSMA scan last year as part of investigations into possible recurrence. This showed a potential rib issue but also said this could be caused by a previous injury - it was exactly where I suffered a broken rib in a car accident (not my fault) several years ago so was discounted.
I wasn't drunk at the time of the car accident, but was later that night when I eventually got home from A&E and needed some single malt whisky to aid sleep. It worked.
Hopefully you'll be OK with nothing more to worry about.
