Hi all - my previous threads refer - I never know whether to start a new one or not
Brief background - hubby diagnosed 2 weeks ago now - T3a PSA 5.6 & Gleason 3+4
I rang the cancer nurses this morning and was lucky to get the one who had attended the MDT meeting about my OH so she could tell me more.
so updates............
Bone Scan - not usually offered as low PSA & Gleason score but if concerned can mention to oncologist when speak to them 29th April - nothing to indicate its spread as it is just starting nudge the capsule wall - escaped he gland but not the wall - nothing in seminal vessels or lymph nodes they can see.
MDT meeting - suggested radiotherapy may be best option as due to short urethra there is a high risk of incontinence
Brachetherapy may not be an option as T3a so may be external beam + HT - apparently the oncologist we are seeing will have an honest conversation with us about this and discuss the in's & out's of the right treatment.
Everything is apparently aimed at curative treatment so fingers crossed we will have him around for a good while yet .
Any thoughts welcome.............
Thanks
