Hi everyone,

I'm currently having chemo, just completed number three of six sessions. I have three weeks between each session.

Once I’m finished chemo I go onto twenty sessions of radiotherapy, five per week for a month. Has anyone had this timeline?
Was wondering how long you wait between finishing chemo and starting radiotherapy?

  • Hi Tom ( ), good luck with your chemo, half way already!  Hope you are not feeling too bad.  I am assuming you are on HT so firstly that will put the brakes on the PCa.  The chemo will be killing the cancer and at the end hopefully you won’t have any or much left.  The chemo can take it out of you, so generally the medics tend to wait 3-6 months for reasonable recovery before hitting you again.  You can read any of our journeys by clicking on the name or avatar if a profile has been added.  Let us know how you get on, David

  • Thanks for that David. The chemo is definitely a wee bit cheeky!!!
Tiredness is the big one for me then the loss of taste in anything I drink. Other than that I think I’ve got off lightly.

I just assumed I would go straight onto radiotherapy after chemo. It’s definitely a strange old journey we find ourselves on!!!

  • Tom, Fingers crossed you don’t get any other side effects, think you are doing well but the old fatigue does creep up on you!  David

  • Hi. OH had 18 weeks chemo then a fairly short break - say about a couple of months then started the 20 sessions RT. Wishing you all the very best x
