7 weeks ago I came off Prostrap as I had been diagnosed with osteoporosis and Prostrap can make things worse.
I went onto Bicalutamide but I have developed flu like symptons over the last 7 weeks and finally been in touch with my oncolojist and they explained it is a rate side effect of Bicalutamide and they have suggested I go back on Prostrap....I have 8 months left of HT (3 years) and I feel I'm stuck between a Rock and a hard place.....anybody else had a similar experience ?
Have you tried "suggesting" to your oncologist that perhaps that the 2 + years that you have been on Prostap might be adequate for you. There does seem to be a line of thought that periods of HT beyond two years are actually of little, if any, benefit. I say that, of course, with no knowledge of your particular case - and no medical training. My course of 3 yrs has been reduced to 2 already just 9 months after diagnosis.
Thanks moonraker
I mentioned that this January when they suggested changing to Bicalutamide.
All they said was that is a risk . I'm T3b, 3/4 Gleeson original PSa 10. It had spread into seminal vessels only. Had rt to prostate , seminal vessels and pelvic lymph nodes.
They said they want me to stay on Ht until at least June as that is the two year aniversory of the RTb.
