Hi
just an update on my brother
he has a telephone consultation with his oncologist on thursdsy to have the discussion about his treatment as he feels he needs a more informed explanation of both treatments . His oncologist originally said Alputamide followed by chemo but he had heard about triple therapy and wants to see if that’s an option which it is but this wasn’t offered to him so he’s been but up the wall deciding so hopefully Thursday he can decide and get on the treatment . He had a appointment today with his urologist as he having trouble peeing etc so they are going to put him on catheter for two weeks see how that goes and the urologist just happened to mention that his PSA has gone down to 2.5 from 50.9 so as you can imagine he was made up as he wasn’t expecting that today so he’s feeling lot better in himself and just wants to make the decision now as he needs to make it pretty soon .

Hello Bg65
Great news about the PSA - the issue peeing could be the size of the prostate, so it's worth asking if this is causing the problem. Sometimes it grows and starts to restrict the bladder or urethra. There is a pretty simple operation to deal with this where they "shave" some of the prostate to clear the passage.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Bg65
It is a TURP - I have had one and it works for me. (details in my profile). I never asked what happens if it doesn't work?
Best wishes - Brian.
