Hi everyone just looking for a bit of advise my partner has his biopsy results with his consultant on Friday (7th) I just wandered if there’s anything we need to ask about while there it’s been a long 3 weeks and my brain will probs just be like mush on the day and may forget to ask important things just if anyone can give me a bit of advise and know what to expect he’s been asked to take a water sample in not sure why they need this any ideas thanks x
Hi Clare, think we've spoken before, don't worry too much about the Gleeson, easy to say I know, but think u mentioned tumour contained and not in the bones so probably the 2 main points.
Obviously the lower the better but with stats so far potentially still curable.
So as far as questions go if cancer what treatment are they going to suggest or perhaps they have already talked about that
Hope all goes ok for you
Best wishes
Steve
Hi Steve no had nothing back from biopsy just mri and to expect cancer as in the higher side of PI-RADS at 5 so not blind sided by it when results come but said couldn’t have a definite diagnosis til results of biopsy but we are now in the 3rd week of waiting and it’s been a very worrying time
Hello Clare (Clarebryan62)
So with an initial PSA of 45.2 it's going to be a cancer diagnosis.
Out of this meeting you NEED The Gleason Score - you NEED to find out how aggressive it is and you also NEED the TNM staging to find out just where the little bug*ars are.
Once you have those figures you need to ask what treatment path the MDT thinks Bryan should be on. Don't forget it's his choice and there may be options the MDT hasn't suggested. You need time to think how the treatment plan will affect YOU BOTH before you decide.
Here's a guide to asking questions - sometimes there are things personal to you so this should help:
Take notes and ask for a copy of the MDT minutes.
I do hope this helps, If you need anything else, just ask. I wish you the best possible outcome on Friday.
Best wishes - Brian.
