Radiotherapy question

Hi all

I got scanned and tattooed yesterday for my radiotherapy 'zap' on Friday
They are only zapping one area in my right hip to try to help with the pain

I've read about side effects from radiotherapy but these all seem to deal with side effects from multiple sessions.
This is a one off

Any advice is appreciated

Regards

Martin

  • Hello Martin

My advice - lay back - enjoy your time on the "sunbed" and I hope the Radiotherapy works for you.

There are risks withe everything, crossing the road, etc, etc - I can't see one session giving you any issues. I am 18 months post 20 sessions and feel amazing - you will be fine.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks.
This is new to me so I don't know what to expect.

I aways thought if I ever got a tattoo it would be more interesting than 3 dots ;-)

  • Hello Martin ( )

I don't like tattoo's and said I would NEVER have one - now I have 3 Joy, all in a good cause though.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Martin, I agree with Brian, hopefully one session shouldn't cause any issues.

I'd never had any tattoos either before my Radiotherapy, suppose you could join the dots...

Hope it goes smoothly for you.  Let us know how you get on.

  • Hi guys I'm on holiday in memphis at mo .had my tattoos day before holiday within can't see the centre tatoo RT starting on 27th .

Also got a crazy rash all over with apalutamide. Any ideas ?

  • Mal, is it crazy in Memphis?  Election fever???

I'm glad Trump won.  He might have some wacky ideas but I think he was the better person in the end.

I had a rash once I started on my Radiotherapy.  I was given Flamigel.  Think it's a bit early for you though.

When you start your Radiotherapy ask for some Flamigel.  Very soothing.

Hope it goes smoothly for you.
