Hi my name is Peter
I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7. I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern. Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5. Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated
Kind regards
Peter
Hello Peter (Psb2024)
Well that’s good news about the planning scan. As you are aware I was empty bladder/empty bowel.
Our “rules” were enema no more than an hour before your appointment. Easy for me as I live a mile away from the hospital. Most people did their enema at the hospital. My enema cleared me out within quarter of an hour so I didn’t need to go again.
If you live a distance from the hospital make a note of public toilets MacDonalds, Costa etc, if travelling in the countryside a lay-by with a big tree and an empty fabric conditioner bottle for the car should you be caught short.
It’s just like lying on a sunbed and is pain free. You will sail through it.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Psb2024 you sound very prepared. You just need to be able to find a parking place at the hospital and overcome the Groundhog Day feeling and you will sail through.
Best wishes, David
Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.
sounds like you're pretty much prepared. I was fairly lucky. PSA blood test done after telling my doctor while seeing him for something completely different. suddenly needing to go toilet lots of times in night and day
The test came back with a reading of 21, everything was fast tracked from then on from week later had getting with a consultant at Redditch hospital followed very quickly MRI then biopsy 7 weeks later saw my consultant with results, like you 2 growths 4+3 7 . quickly arranged bone scan, thankfully all clear, was contained in the prostate. I opt for radiotherapy 20 sessions these are very quick and painless. Hardest bit was having to travel 27.7 miles each way and using hospital transport not knowing pick up time so very hard to make sure bladder was full at appointment time. Saying that the department at Royal Worcester hospital couldn't have been more caring and putting me at ease. Can't thank them enough. Good luck and trust all involved staff
Hi psb2024,
Brian is right, you will sail through it. Jacob had it 14 months ago and I remembered exactly the same doubts and questions and worries. To be honest this is now like a very distant memory. And it help smashing the bas..rd!
Good luck!
Lots of love
