Hi my name is Peter

I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7.  I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern.  Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5.  Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated

Kind regards

Peter

  • Hi David

Thanks for the information Thumbsup I just can't stop worrying like everyone else in this position, the waiting just makes me think it will spread.

    Best wishes Peter

  • Hi PCB

To save me looking through all the posts, there r a few, what is your PSA and what does the MRI say ? presume u have had a Mri but no biopsy?

    Steve

  • Hi Steve the mri report is on the fourth page listing ,psa  of 7.7 psa density 0.1,normal lymph nodes normal pelvic area normal bladder Normal colon, had biopsy yesterday results next Friday cat scan on the 22nd

  • Ok, just taken a look, see that I replied then, it's all coming back to me.

T3 so just outside the gland, as long as you're on HT to stop any spread all should be ok.

When biopsy and cat scan done hopefully they can give u a date for Radiotherapy to start.

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • No mention of any HT at biopsy, it worries me I won't get any information until after the cat scan on the 22nd

    Regards

    Peter

  • Ok, so Def it's a T3?  Or questionable?

Does the MRI say just outside the gland , no where else?

    Steve

  • The specialist said yesterday the leison is just a little out of the capsule and a smaller one on other side in prostate

    Peter

  • Ok then , suppose they don't want to do the HT yet cos of the scan , perhaps if on HT scan may not show anything, obviously hopefully nothing there anyway.

Next time u  see a specialist ask about the HT and the concern re spread before Radiotherapy starts.

Unless I'm reading it all wrong., apologies if the case.

    Keep us posted

    Steve

  • I'll get my biopsy results a,week today by phone call I'll definitely ask ,it's my first diagnosis for prostate cancer just worried the time in-between mri results and scan results with spreading

    Thanks Steve

  • I know what you've saying but this must be fairly common I suppose, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can enlighten us.

So question is again, if broken thru the gland y not give HT immediately.

Anyway looking ahead let's hope for a low Gleeson. Do come back when U knows more

    Steve
