Hi my name is Peter
I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7. I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern. Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5. Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated
Kind regards
Peter
Morning all
Hope your all doing well .
Having my first prostrap 3 monthly injection this morning so a bit apprehensive, didn't have any side effects with the tablets or the first month prostrap injection so I guess it's more likely I'll get a few side effects on the three monthly injection.
Was told I'll be on hormone treatment for 18 months to two years so a long road ahead but needs must
Kind regards
Peter
Good Morning Peter (Psb2024)
Good luck with your first HT injection this morning - I have just completed 3 years on HT.
The first side effect was ED - that was pretty quick as my testosterone went - after that the others took a few months to appear. As Alpine Wanderer said above, keep positive, keep up the exercising and you will be fine.
Every time fatigue hit I got up and did something - walked the dog (again), did a little job about the house, the washing up - just something to keep me going in the end the side effects just became part of my daily life. I carried on as normal - prostate cancer came with me!!
It's not a sprint it's a marathon - just carry on as normal and you will be fine.
Best wishes - Brian.

Peter (Psb2024 ), have you had your planning session yet? If not, everything should be explained. My experience is that the team will try and move you to a convenient time if you need. I chose early in the morning so that the day wasn’t wasted (and parking was easier!).
Best wishes, David
