Hi my name is Peter
I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7. I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern. Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5. Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated
Kind regards
Peter
Hi all
Just had the CAT scan not as long as I thought hour wait drinking water and weeing a lot 10 minutes scan 10 minutes wait after .
Just wondering how the urology team let you know the results a phone call ? or would they make a appointment to get you in to see them, and the time frame to getting the results must vary I suppose, absolutely dreading results what a head f##k
Peter
Hello Peter (Psb2024)
Well the scans done - now the hard part. First off the Radiologist will look at the scan results and then pass their interpretation of the results to Urology. They will then decide what action (if any) needs to be taken.
Usual time frame 1 - 2 weeks but I have known them to be quicker (when I was in hospital!!).
Each Urology department has their own way of working - mine used the telephone for results backed up by letter.
Once you get all your results together and a treatment plan then things will get much, much easier.
Best wishes - Brian.

Greetings Peter, I think it depends on the team/hospital, from my first blood test in August this year I had my Prostatectomy on October 9th and now back at work part time, I got in a routine after the procedure and decided to stick to that.
I found the bone scan a week after diagnosis was worse to see if it had spread, luckily it hadn't, I've had my results pretty quickly throughout either through a phone call or My Care.
You'll probably get a phone call.
Good luck and best wishes
Stewart
