Hi my name is Peter
I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7. I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern. Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5. Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated
Kind regards
Peter
Hello Mace
Good luck with it - it's so easy - the 20 fractions will be over quickly.
If you have any issues - however small - let the radiology staff know.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi all
Had a nightmare with my planning scan as I'm retaining too much urine so my choices are procedure with urology where the prostate is scrapped think it's called turp or wearing a catheter for 8 weeks so they can regulate the urine during radiotherapy.
Bloody nightmare.
Kind regards
Peter
Hello Peter (Psb2024)
Sorry to read your post - I spent 10 months with an indwelling catheter and had a TURP then to shave the old Prostate and it sorted me out.
I can confirm the TURP is painless and worked for me - link below:
NHS - TURP Operation.
And I just got used to the catheter. Any questions ask away - I can answer them although there may be a slight delay as I am on holiday. .
Best wishes - Brian.

The catheter was removed about 6.30am Saturday morning and as soon as I could wee 750ml of clear urine i was off home just after lunch.
