The consultant has now introduced a further treatment on top of my usual Degarelix injections.
I'm now on Erleada apalutamide tablets. 4 x 60mg a day.
From someone who only ever took paracetamol for a hangover, I'm now on 17 tabs a day. But, if they prolong my life, bring them on.
First night i took them( all 4 tabs at once as instructed) I had hallucinations. Woke up screaming. Been OK since.
Left fema now hurting more as that's where the cancer has spread from my prostate. Seeing orthopedic surgeon again on Friday. He seeing me every month and will decide whan it's time for pins to be inserted in the top of my legs to prevent breaks.
Otherwise feeling fine. Tired, but OK.
Going to look on other forums on here for holiday insurance recommendations as hoping to get away for Xmas, somewhere warm.
My sons Lymphoma has come back and he waiting for another PET scan and then surgery to remove another cancerous lymph nodes in his neck.
As if us 2 weren't enough, my eldest son (40) died on a flight back from Bulgaria on the 16th September. Massive heart attack.
Poor grandkids were with him so I had to fly out to Germany that night to rescue them. Jet2 were brilliant.
CHINS UP AND KEEP FIGHTING.
Hello Tomjef
Wow - I am so sorry to read your post - my sincere condolences - I remember reading about that Jet 2 flight, it was one of the new Liverpool flights and diverted to Cologne I think. I am so so sorry, If there is anything I or Macmillan can do for you please let me know.
As for you - well at least your team have your issues in hand and it looks like you are being well looked after.
As for travel insurance, nearly all the insurance Companies use the same algorithms to give you an online quote so by the time you have completed the form it's quicker to ring for a quote. We have joint worldwide annual insurance with insureancewith I have my Prostate Cancer and type 2 diabetes and Mrs M has issues (medical!!) and for a year we are paying £780 (we do fly to Turkey a few times a year).
I do hope you get something sorted - we all need a good holiday .
CHINS UP AND KEEP FIGHTING.
We are all with you on that one. Take care and you know where I am if you need anything.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Tomjef .
I am so sorry to hear about your son and send my sincere condolences to you and your family.
With regards to the Apalutamide - very often men find that when they first start taking this class of drug they can have an initial surge in bone and muscle pain which settles down after a short while.
I hope that you manage to get away for a holiday as it can really act as a tonic. As I am not allowed to recommend an insurance company I have no personal knowledge of can I ask Brian Millibob to check the spelling of the one he has recommended.
Good Morning Alwayshope
Thanks for that - Insurance Company name corrected - it was a long busy day yesterday!!
Best wishes - Brian.
