Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just had my last HT injection into the old gluteus maximus and it's been a very interesting 30 months. I think I have had every side effect going and yet I am fine in myself. My nadir PSA test will be this August and then PSA tests 6 monthly lifelong. Anyone who isn't aware you can read my journey by clicking on my avatar.

I would just like to say a BIG thank you for everyone who has supported me on this journey and also to everyone in the Community for their continued support for others - you all are an inspiration.

For anyone interested we are looking for Community Champions - and as it's National Volunteering week here's a link for you

  • Hello

I am only putting back in what I have had out (and possibly a little bit more).

It's an amazing feeling being able to help people you have never met (and probably will never meet). The ongoing training and support from Macmillan is super and being 30 months down the line and knowing where I was at the start makes it all worthwhile.

if you speak to any of the other Community Champions (we speak to one another quite often) they will all say the same. "we do it because we care!"

Thanks for your support and I wish you well - Brian.

  • Hi  Yes - the longer that you’re on HT, the longer it takes to get the testosterone back. You may not get full testosterone levels back either. Certainly, I would expect at least 6-9 months for anything to happen.  No doubt you will supply the path that you are taken in due course!   AW

  • That is brilliant news Brian! Fingers crossed for your PSA test!

  • It must feel like a birthday when you are a young kid, knowing that it is on it's way but taking an age to get there.  Well, you have made it & that last jab in the posterior is now in the past.

    All the best

    Brian
