Hi
Husband started hormone therapy tablets on Thursday and for the last 2 nights has woken up on with pain in his groin and legs....he never had this pain before.
Is this normal?
Thanks
Good Morning AFLMF
Honest answer - It may be If it's only started at the same time as the Hormone Therapy then there must be a connection. Is this at the start of the Bicalutamide Tablets, as one of their side effects is swelling of the lower legs.
I would have a word with his CNS (Cancer Nurse Specialist) or Consultant for advice.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi AFLMF .
When you first start on hormone therapy tablets it can cause an initial rise in cancer cells which can result in increased pain and an increase in PSA. These tablets dampen down the increase that you would normally get if you went straight to injections/ implants. The pain should be short lived as the hormone therapy gets to work putting the cancer cells into hibernation.
Praying that the therapy works for husband.
Thank you
