Hey all, new here, but awaiting news.
A bit of background - My Dad 66, PSA 26, blood in urine, dribbling wee and not able to pass, back pain, DRE and a referral under the 2ww
Told him to go the Dr's 8 days since,
Had MRI, Biopsy, concerning MRI they advised.
ANY ADVICE? Thoughts,
I went reading as you do BPH or PC but the symptoms are concerning. I'm NHS background and if I'm honest I'm trying to kid myself it's BPH
Anyway so if results come back and he's got PC (highly likely I know) then are men living normal lives with this? I would like real journeys ans how I can support if it's poor news x
Hello K3rry4nn A warm welcome to the online Prostate Cancer Community - we aren't a bad bunch!!
With those results - a PSA of 26 I think you are right to assume Prostate Cancer - sorry to say, however all is not lost.
First off I would be waiting to hear the results of the MRI and Biopsy - these will give you the news you don't want and then you can move forward with a treatment plan. The good news is that 98% of men diagnosed with Prostate Cancer die WITH it not OF it!!
All of us men on here (there are more ladies would you believe) are living a good life - yes we have had to make some adjustments - diet - lifestyle etc but I wouldn't say it's life changing. I have been diagnosed for just 2 years and you can read my entire journey by clicking on the icon of the beach - yes I has the odd issue on the way - but I feel amazing!
We are all different so let's wait for his diagnosis and then we can move on - in the meanwhile if you do have any questions - however trivial feel free to ask.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi and welcome to our little club that no one ever thought or wanted to join!
A PSA of 26 isn't roo bad - mine was 18 - but in order to give a clear picture, it would help us know the results of the other tests.
Whilst blood in the urine and struggling to wee are concerning they don't necessarily prove PC.
Don't panic until you have the results, try and keep away from Dr Google too, as without specific data it won't help!
Regards
Stuart
The icon of the beach is Oludeniz Beach in Turkey - we have a little place in Ovacik a couple of miles up the road. Every time I see it it reminds me I need a holiday - and I still can!!
Best wishes - Brian.
