Hi, if your prostate cancer has metastasised to the vertebrae in the spine does this mean you have bone cancer? Also does this mean your diagnosis is terminal/can”t be cured.

  • Hi MB

Sorry to hear about your OH.

No, PC spread to the bones is not bone cancer.

Just bone mets related to the PC

If in the bones unlikely can be cured but people can survive for many years, there are still plenty of treatments out there.

Also look at cancerresearchuk.org.  go to clinical trials, believe there are some  treatments particularly for advanced cancers.

There's still plenty of hope out there.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you so much for your reply. I was going to ask the oncologist this today but you have saved me a job. I don't like him that much.

  • Know what u mean.Sweat smile

    All the best

  • Thank you for this information. I’m trying to book travel insurance and they all ask if the cancer had spread anywhere like other organs, lymph nodes or bones and I just don’t know how to answer. I don’t find the urology department very helpful

  • Hi MB

Yes it can be difficult , important to be honest though when it comes to travel insurance.

If it has spread to the bones as u indicated in your initial post then u need to say that it has spread, just in case u have to make a claim.

    regards

    Steve
