Hi all,
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted but I’ve been quietly following others posts
Dad got his PSA Results before his second round of Hormone Therapy last week, his PSA has reduced from 3671 to 42 so I have a little hope
We have a consultation with Oncology next month when we think they will discuss everything
The waiting can be difficult
Things are definitely moving in the right direction for your Dad. So glad PSA has came down significantly xx
Hi Magic23
I do remember your previous post and am very pleased you have come back to keep us updated.
The hormone therapy has stopped the testosterone on which the cancer thrives and it slows down further growth whilst your Dad's treatment plan can be organised.
It's great to see the figures as low as that and I presume it will drop further. Keep us posted with Dad's progress and in the meanwhile if you need anything you know where we are.
Kind Regards
Brian.

Hi Brian,
Thank you for your kind words, it’s given me a little bit of hope whilst we wait to find out what the next steps are. I’m hoping that we’re not waiting too long for hopefully further treatment to be started
It’s such a lovely supportive community
Thanks
Steph
Hi Steph
As I have said on other threads, Prostate Cancer affects the man, his family and friends, but the only people who understand this terrible cancer are the sufferer, his immediate family and some medical professionals.
I have found during the earlier part of my journey loads of support here and it's helped me come to terms with everything. my understanding of the process has developed and I now enjoy putting back what I have had out.
You will find your Dad's journey full of waiting for appointments, tests and treatment. Sometimes its helpful to try and "push" for earlier appointments and results. Waiting is so frustrating!!
Kind Regards
Brian.

The waiting is definitely the hardest part! My Dad was due to have a Biopsy but it was cancelled on the day as his leg/foot was still swollen from his operation. He had to have a rod fitted into his femur bone as it was so weak, the cancer must have been putting pressure on it. We found out this week that he doesn’t need a Biopsy as the Bone Sample they took during the operation has confirmed it is Prostate Cancer and Edinburgh are happy to accept that
I feel we’re in the unknown until we have his first appointment on the 19th of this month, I do have some support around me but I don’t think anyone truly understands until they are going through it themselves
Steph
