Hi all. I am really worried about my husband’s health and wonder if any of you have suffered the same symptoms after chemo is finished.  he finished chemo at the beginning of December then developed a bad cough and wheeze 2 weeks later, he then had 4 courses of antibiotics and a course of steroids and although his cough is a lot better but his wheeze is not.  His GP has requested a CT scan, this will be on 17th February, but now I’m really concerned as he seems to be so cold, he’s shivering all the time.  his temperature is around 34-35 so ok, he’s so tired and weak.
I have read that you can still suffer side effects months after chemo ends but these are new symptoms.

kind regards

  • I’m not medically qualified but I think it might be worth checking his temperature again as a temperature below 35C is not good.

I hope he is ok take care Robina

  • Hi Robina, thank you for your reply.  his temperature has been 34-35 for a few days so definitely going to try see a GP tomorrow.  x

  • Hi

Temperature is always a must, it’s good the GP is in on this, side effects can happen at different times, cannot comment on what medical people should do, but an asthmatic breather may help.

  • Hi uncle I am just coming to 12 months after chemo and RT and am still very often cold my hands and feet are always cold. I wear socks in bed and gloves in this winter weather

as for chest problems has he been offered nebuliser as this eases wheezing

Hope things get better and he gets all the support he needs

    Best wishes

    Tony
