Had radical prostatectomy 12days ago.
Diagnosed Dec 2020.
PSA 3.6
GLEASON 6 on the left,7 on the right(3+4)
Was not offered a bone scan.
Offered surgery.I explored other options but came back for surgery.
Surgeon said prostate completely removed.Nerve salvage on both sides but less on the right
HiFU team said they are unable to do targeted treatment as there are no hot spots.Radiotherapist said she advises surgery as radiotherapy puts me at risk of further cancer .
My prostate gland was small at 13cc.
Catheter out 4days ago.Feels better in myself but still gross incontinence.
Any tips on rehabilitating myself.I am 58yrs old, overweight but fit.
Really worried sick about the ED,probably less about the incontinence.

I’m glad you’re recovering so well from surgery, so you had the catheter out on day 8, wow that’s quick. Continue with pelvic floor exercises take your time, I had catheter for 3 weeks and wore pads for up to 7 weeks, currently no issue with continence now,
Gentle walking is good. Ensure you don’t overdo it I found when I over did walking I’d leak.
as for Ed again early days. Wait a little while then speak to your gp and specialist nurse. I got prescribed a vacuum pump and viagra. It can take a while to recover so take it easy
What YoungMan says, plus:
With incontinence, there's always a temptation to cut down on your fluid intake; resist this! Fluids are essential, especially in the early days, especially with incontinence issues.
Counter intuitively, a good fluid intake tends to reduce incontinence, partly because there's more there for the muscles to cope with, partly because reduced (therefore concentrated) urine is an irritant. There's also a much increased risk of infection with reduced flushing of the system.

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.
Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.
Charles62. I had the da Vinci. The incontinence gets better. I still wear a pad and piss sitting down as I find that it is easier to empty the bladder fully that way. The ED gets better too. Little blue pills at first and with a bit of luck the connections grow back and things happen more naturally. Good luck.
I'm 10 months on from mine. I'd echo what the others have said. (Personally get a little leakage maybe 1 or 2 times a week, by 'little' I mean 1 or 2 thimblefuls). One thing I did find as I was recovering was that if I put any strain on myself - e.g. picking things up, twisting awkwardly - I got sharp pain from the wounds, which could last up to a couple of days. I thought I'd torn internal stitches and was doing some damage but it seems the pain was just caused by nerve damage - so if you experience that as you start upping your activity, there's no need to assume the worst. Hope it all goes well!
Had mine removed in June and recovered quickly from the De Vinci surgery you have to do the kegel exercises I use the Squeezy App to get the timing right and record. I found walking each day helps,my incontinence is nearly gone just use 1 light pad each day just in case but that will be ditched soon ED is still bit of an issue but feel I will get to grips with this. It just takes time you have to be patient and take each day at a time
