Probably was about time I updated my status and experience! Almost a year since my diagnosis and the rush that followed. PSA117 , T4 and a Bo Derek Gleason (5+5) with a pretty pattern of snow flakes on my bone scan!

Straight on Prostap after first month of Degarelix, then caught Covid delaying Chemo by one month. 6 turns on the Chemo bed wearing funny hats to hide the chemo cap finishing in September with a full head of hair and none anywhere else!

My PSA went sharply down to 1.2 by July but has been creeping up since. Since Chemo ended and still on Prostap my PSA continued to rise but and they found that the snow had disappeared from many places and reduced flakes elsewhere. Also my Testosterone is 0.05. Oncologist tried Bicalutimide but no difference so at PSA 6.9 ( 6 weeks ago) I was put on Abiraterone. In those weeks PSA has risen roughly 2.6 every 2 weeks to 16. My nurse and oncologist say they are not worried and so I think they are lucky!

I've not had any problems with any of the treatments which I thought was a good sign. I hope Abi will be my friend. one day at a time

What does anyone else think. Cheers

  • Hi Flyingsquad.

Whenever I see your name I always think of The Sweeney.

Bearing in mind your initial stats things look ok for you, Oncologist seems happy and u don't seem to have any side effects, here's to a good 2021 for you.

thanks, as a quick update my PSA has been stable now 15.2 for 6 weeks. Oncologist says he was homing it would fall a bit now (Inagreed).

Ive got significant pain on right pelvic area. MRI shows no pressure on spine so CT Scan planned as check in next couple of weeks.

  • Hi

Glad things are going a little better for you, did they never offer radiotherapy ? Although it may be kept in reserve, I’am thinking of asking for arbirarerone not sure if they will give that as I have a heart murmur, still hope you keep doing well.

    Stay safe
