Hi
my husband finished chemo in dec 25 and radiotherapy finished on March 3rd 2026 after 20 sessions, he has been on relugolix since July 25, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer that had gone to 2 lymph nodes in prostate, Gleason 4 + 4.
he is now suffering with terrible aching muscles and struggling to get about, he is 61 and was perfectly fit & strong before all this and had no symptoms before being diagnosed. His PSA was 51 and is currently 0.01.
are these aches a normal side effect as our oncologist and radiotherapist are impossible to get hold of. His next appt isn’t until July. He has gone back to work as we run our own hgv but struggling with getting in and out of his lorry and even walking is a struggle
Hi,
My diagnosis is similar-ish to your husbands and my treatments too (it's all on my profile) and I too get aching muscles , and bones (I'm pretty sure it's a common side effect), but it's mostly after relaxing or not doing much, and I too struggle initially to get up, but once I'm out walking or at work (Floorlayer) it subsides a great deal, also getting out of bed first thing in the morning is a mission... Exercising as much as possible, and weight training will help a lot, and if You are not aware already Calcium +Vit D supplements are a must... Your husband is doing really well, that's a great response to his treatment, I asume he's being treated with curative intent? ...
All the best going forward...
Jay
