Diagnosed with Peritoneal cancer October 2025

I suffered periodical severe abdominal pain and violent sickness from March 2024. In November 2024 I told My GP maybe my cancer had returned , had been successfully treated for ovarian cancer in 2012.

The GP said the Ultra Sound showed gallstones and the blood result (CA125. 42) was normal So I was referred to have my gallbladder removed.

I had my gallbladder removed on the 30th September 2025. The surgeon immediately informed me she was shocked to see Peritoneal cancer during the operation.

I have been offered weekly chemotherapy for 16 weeks. The same treatment I got in 2012 but was told I could not have an operation and I am very sad about that decision.

I have read recently Ovarian cancer has a 70-80% chance of reoccurrence I wish I had known that.

  • Hello Catherine. I, too, was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer. It was also successfully treated in 2019. I went in for my routine CA-125 test in October, and it was high. I took a PET scan and they found cancer again. I'll be starting chemotherapy again on the 23rd of this month. I'm sorry you didn't know about the high recurrent rate of ovarian cancer.
