Hi.
I haven’t posted anything for some time now.
After 6 cycles of chemo last year as i had responded well to treatment I had debulking surgery in July. As well as total hysterectomy, I was told that as much as was visible was removed including in pelvic area., Oventum, nodules from pancreas & underneath diaphragm too. I didn’t end up having to have a stoma as instead of taking our part of colon the surgeon removed all he could from bowel area. After some recovery time I had a further 2 cycles of paclitaxel & carboplatin then began 18 cycles of Bevacizumab (Avastin).
My last scan & CA-125 blood tests were in November & at a follow up appointment with consultant she said results were good & that my CA-125 level was 15.
I am having my next scan tomorrow so had my CA-125 blood test earlier in the week. When I went for my 8th cycle of Avastin today I asked if my CA-125 blood tests had come through. I was shocked to hear they were 300 and to be quite honest it has sent my mind into overdrive! . My magnesium is also low so have been given supplements to take.
At least as I have the scan tomorrow I have already got an appointment booked with my consultant in mid-March for results. However I wondered if anyone else here has a similar experience?
I don’t want to worry my lovely husband & family unnecessarily so haven’t said anything to them yet.
Just feel very apprehensive about what this could mean & for the future.
Hi Roonie
I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where hopefully it'll be spotted by someone who can help.
I hope the scan went well and that maybe you've had some of your questions answered by your team already. Do you have a CNS who you can chat to about your worries?
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
