Hi,
My cancer has been confirmed as being ovarian and peritoneal cancer, unknown which is primary. The diagnosis has been ongoing since December. 2 fluid drains so far and 2 biopsy so far. I have lost 33lb since end December.
Eating is a real issue, first I had covid gastrointestinal, so constantly sick, that passed now. Went in for 2nd drain and biopsy, came home next day, yet again constantly sick. Now taking ondansetron and cyclizine for the sickness for 2 days now, which has helped, but when I do eat I can only manage a couple of bites, which has been the way since December, but what is continuing is, I feel nausea when I don't eat, when I do it, although not sick the nausea is still debilitating.
After speaking to cancer nurse, I have fortijuice, as fortisip does not agree. I've gone off food as well, almost to scared to eat. I can manage just about a weetabix in the morning, can't manage lunch, dinner, is hit and miss, normally soup, but can't seem to do that now. I've got sweets to suck on, dextrose tablets. I need to hopefully get some strength as due to start chemo soon.
Is anyone able to make any suggestions or provide any tips? I feel my energy is disappearing before the fight. Any words of wisdom would be helpful, as have run out of ideas.
Need help desperately.
Thank you in advance

Still waiting for the consultation with the oncologist. ️️
Did you find any food you were able to eat, some irrated the stomach more than others?
Regards xxxx
The waiting is always hard, for us all I think.
As to foods, I think what you can tolerate is always different from person to person. I know when I felt so sick, there was nothing I could even look at! When the nurse said I had to just sip water, I felt like saying that sipping was all I could do anyway...glugging was out of the question! Dry toast is always my go-to food when I feel I can't eat..Or plain rice. And when I'm feeling slightly better, yoghurt. A nurse friend suggested ice-pops to suck.
Sorry there's nothing too surprising in that list. Perhaps try the Ask an Expert bit of this website? Or ask to be referred to a dietician. Your cancer nurse specialist should be able to help with that.
Good luck
