Hi to everyone on here ,I'm new to all this being diagnosed with penile cancer as rocked my life ,its just an emotional roller coaster not being able to control the crying and the ups and mainly theowns . It all start with an infection in my penis ,water infection given Antibiotics, the infection got worse and never went away ,after fighting my way every time to see my GP just to be told its Banitis take some more Antibiotics but once again it never cleared this has been going on since June 22 . My Docor left the practice so I ended up with a trainee locum telling me the exact same thing've been told over and over again, then the swollen penis back to the GP again to be told its Balanitis it causes swelling more Antibiotics, finally I asked to be sent to the urology department for circumcision. Arrived at hospital to see the consultant with in 10 seconds of him looking he told me I had a Tumour you've all been there you know the feeling being told this . Any way I was in with a week for a circumcision and biopsy which came back positive for cancer . That's were I'm at now ,waiting to go into Leeds on the 21st for my first consultation, I will tell everyone I'm absolutelshitting myself. I can't work after the circumcision as I had Dosal slit very painful slow healing strugling to wear bottoms as its rubbing . So this is my jorney so far ,dont know how long the recery is but this is going to hit me financially but hay ho my health is more important and trying to be positive. Thanks for reading my road trip so far any feed back would be greatly appreciated .
Cheers DeeGee

Hi Dave, did you get your op on the 19th and if you did how are you doing.
Afternoon Robert hope your OK, yes I had my op Wednesday morning I ended up having a full Penectomy they also took my 2 sentinels out plus 1 other nood that was infected but not positive for cancer I also had an absuss in my Groin. Operation went to plan 7 hrs I was in surgery. I'm now on the ward in Bexley Wing Leeds getting the best recovery from the best staff you could ask for . How are you doing Robert
Wow 7 hours, hope you are now on the road of recovery, just let the staff look after you and get well. I struggled with infections and catheter issues so hopefully this does not happen to you but if it does I am sure you will get through it.
I am waiting for my sentinel lymph node biopsy results should get them in next 2 weeks.
look after yourself you are now free of that cancer tumor.
Robert
Robert I've got everything crossed for you I hope everything goes your way mate
️
Thanks will let you know my results, if the cancer has spread than getting all the nodes out is a big operation.
will check in with you in a few days to see how you are doing.
Robert
Morning Robert how's things hope your well my friend, got home from hospital last night ,so glad to be home and in my own environment, I wouldn't say it was a bad nights sleep but it was comfortable. My wife as been an absolute Rock ,I think if I'd been on my own Robert I think I'd just let the cancer take me . I'm very up and down today been back to bed ,back up and at it bit of a shuffle round the house ,walking is still.painfull because of were they cut to get the Lymph Noods out ,I can't feel my penis that's totally gone now and funny the pain as gone my friend ,its a strange feeling really. I've got the cafferta in my new hole underneath ,I would think that's my next thing to conquer but that's in 10 days . Any news on you mate any dates yet ??
The good news is your tumor which would have killed you has now gone and the journey to live life starts today. Now that you are home with loved ones you will recover quicker and you will learn how to manage catheters and eventually how to urinate but know doubt this is life changing and you need to learn how your new life feels.
Its good to here your wife is very supportive as her life is also going to change, similarly my wife has been great and so has my 2 adult kids they have all just shared the hospital visits and looked after me.
I still have no results from node biopsy maybe end of this week.
look after yourself, I will check on you in a few days.
Robert
Hi Dave how are you doing, your catheter should be coming out soon they ask you to fill your bladder up then urinate then they measure the amount in your bladder. Only if you empty your bladder they take the catheter out, I failed 3 times only to find I retain urine, I then had to learn how to catheterise myself which is not as bad as it sounds. However you might be different with the type of surgery.
still no results from my node biopsy.
Robert
