Hi everyone. New to this site, starting to have to face the reality that I have cancer (diagnosed 13 July). Feeling a bit lost and scared right now. I should be feeling upbeat, got an appointment with surgeon on Tuesday to discuss surgery so it's good that they are looking at that option so quickly. But right now I'm feeling really messed up. I don't wanna talk to family/friends cos I'm worried I'll frighten them. Is it right that I feel emotionally responsible for them?
Hello Susanne
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that is good news that the surgeon is seeing you with a view to surgery.
I think that it is absolutely all right to feel emotionally responsible for friends and family. From my experience it is important that the patient makes the decisions they think are right for them.
