I had Whipple in February but have just been told that my biopsy showed Pancreatic cancer which had spread to liver and lungs.  I only have months to live, and that’s if I have chemo.  I’ve agreed to one round for now.
I’m really struggling to come to terms with leaving my close family and my loving rescue dogs… just breaks my heart.

  • I'm so sorry to hear of your prognosis after going through the Whipple. a long operation. I saw my bro through his Whipple, he was 74 it took him some 2 weeks to get onto his feet. He too had chemo the abrax* and coped well with it, symptoms included tiredness but no nausea. There are many examples on this site, who, with chemo kept their spread at bay for well passed their Drs prognosis. My bro had 22 months.

A friend with PC was inf "6 months", and she had over a year. I know this will be of little use to hear, after this great shock you must be in. I hope your family are a comfort to you right now.

Perhaps others will come on and give their support to you. There are people to speak to within your own drs medical team we were given a few tel numbers to call to chat about both his mental approach, diet the need to know, and health issues. I think for us personally our info we got was unaccepted.  We didn't look forward with a view of 'limited time' we went a day at a time. I think many comments on here, the members have expressed how the body is stronger with positive thoughts and determination.

It may be worth looking thro the 'similar situations on here where its recorded chemo has kept the disease steady (even known to eradicate it in places).

There are records on here of stage 4 PC and chemo has done wonders to fight this disease. I hope you can be one of them.
