Hello, new to the forum but was hoping to gain in site to how people organise or do any sort of planning. I am caring for my husband who has inoperable pancreatic cancer that has already spread to his liver.

He has been offered a round of chemo starting in 2 weeks but we have no idea how this will affect his daily life. He said he would like to take me away on holiday. Is this even possible. Does he postpone the chemo so we can go now while he is well enough.

Regards

  • Personally. I would focus on getting treatment underway first but perhaps this is something to discuss with your husbands team? Once chemo starts, it is likely to have at some side effects and its best to get a couple of cycles under the belt to get the measure of it. Depending on how often chemo is delivered, you might be able to squeeze in a short break between cycles.

  • Hello, thank you Lenzie.

  • I think it’s a personal choice, my partner has just gone through chemo and he had the strongest one to start with

it was brutal at times, his main thing was tiredness and no energy

I think the type of cancer it is you have to hit it quick and fast or it just keeps spreading

but u still have to have a quality of life too

i wish u both the best
