Hi this is my first time putting something on here but I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing the same problems. My Dad was told he had pancreatic cancer in the first week of July this year. He has had two MIr scans and a pep scan and now they want him to have a ultra sound scan. We still have know idea what treatment he can have yet and is taking so long to gey some answers and we are all frustrated. I know he's not the only one to have cancer but surely we should know by now some answers.
My husband is currently at the diagnosis stage so I understand the frustration of waiting for results.
He had a scan and biopsy a month ago and will be having a second biopsy next Wednesday and hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the results and treatment plan after that.
Your dad should have been allocated a CNS (cancer nurse specialist) to act as a point of contact if he has any queries. The one my husband has been allocated is excellent and is able to answer any questions and check on appointments and to see if results are in. You could get your dad to give his a call to see where they are with things and how long it should be before a treatment plan is available.
Having also had cancer myself, I know how important it is that the treatment team know exactly what they're dealing with otherwise they could give him the wrong treatment.
I hope you don't have to wait too much longer.
