Hi Everyone,
My dad has been recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer which has now spread to his stomach.
Unfortunately right now due to his lack of appetite he cannot find anything to eat that is helping him and the doctors will not consider chemo if he cannot eat better and build his strength back up.
Apologies for asking this in this type of forum.and I hope it's OK but if anyone has any experience with this lack of appetite and if they have suggestions they would be most welcome
We know that chemo still may not be on the table and even if it is its not a cure but just want to give him the best chance.
Thanks in advance
Build up shakes. What about protein yoghurts or drinks, ice cream, soups. Just mashed potato with cream and cheese, getting those calories in
It's extremely difficult when they don't want to eat but little and often. My brother's oncologist told him lots of protien if possible before he starts his chemo.
I know it's easy for us to comment when it's you that has to struggle getting dad to eat but when my father in law was getting treatment for cancer he would fancy eating something sometimes at 2am the morning, like jelly and ice cream
. Go with it and try and keep strong
