Hi, I am new here. My mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on New Year’s Day after being unwell for a few weeks. It is stage 4 and she started chemo today. It is a brutal disease, my mum has always been so fit and well and has deteriorated so quickly over the last month. My family are all devastated. I feel numb, trying to be strong to support my mum and dad. Any tips on helping someone going through chemo, I don’t know what to expect.
Hello MB7
I'm sorry to hear this news. People react to chemo in different ways. However, it is usual for the patient to feel a bit rough for a few days after chemo and then to feel better until the next infusion.
Take one day at a time and just be there for your Mum and Dad.

Hello there and welcome. Sorry to hear about your Mum, its horrible when they are diagnosed with something so life changing. But, there is hope and chemo can make a difference. What type is she on? My Dad has been on Folfirinox in the past and recently completed Gemzar and Abraxane, so can help if its either of those. x
