Been having abdominal cramps - I am taking creon and in the process of getting chemo treatments. I am on my 4th session with 8 more to go. Has anyone been experiencing cramps. I have only been on creon for 2 weeks but was having same symptoms before. My Whipple surgery was 3 months ago and right before chemo I was actually starting to feel normal.
Since chemo been dealing with the abdominal cramps
Any advice ?
Hi RAB and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read about the abdominal cramps you are experiencing. It must be very unpleasant.
I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've done a search in the group to see if there were any previous posts which mention cramping and found these. You could have a look through them to see how other people have coped.
The most recent person to post about cramp is CatLyn so I've 'tagged' them into my reply to you in the hope that they will pop on and share their experience with you.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hello RAB, I had my whipple surgery almost 4 years ago now I didn't have any chemo but the abdominal cramps, sickness, etc. seem to be a common thing, how ever it appears the symptoms are that of IBS so I was asked to follow a low fod map diet and that help to identify the foods I was eating that caused the most problems. so by avoiding certain food and drink my symptoms have improved tremendously. For me dairy products especially milk and any thing with wheat in it is a serious no, there are others but they are the main ones, there are alternatives which I have switched to. It would be a good idea to talk to your dedicated nurse about it and ask if she can put you in touch with a dietician. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your response. Spoke with a dietitian yesterday and she said basically what you said.
may I ask why no chemo ? Did you have the Whipple without cancer ?
Hi RAB I am not sure why I didn't have chemo it was definitely cancer but I was asked to join a research project were some had chemo and some didn't.
