I'm in complete shock, came down from Yorkshire on Saturday to take Mum for a theatre trip weekend, she opened the door and was Yellow. Less than 8 hours later I'm sitting in A&E holding her hand while the Dr is holding the other and their telling us that Mum has Pancreatic Cancer with spread to her Lungs. It's now Wednesday and she's in North Middlesex hospital waiting to have a stent to open up the bile ducts and to have biopsy.

  • i’m so sorry to hear this, it’s frightening seeing somebody yellow, my husband also had jaundice but we already knew he had PC.  Sending virtual hugs to you.

Hi my mum is currently going through something similar. Did your have the stent. We find out tomorrow if it can be done. Did the treatment work? I'm so worried

  • I am also in the same position with my Mom and would be pleased to know if they were able to fit the stent and if it relieved symptoms.

Hopefully happening this Thursday so I'll let you know

  • Sweet fruit,

I just realised I didn't actually answer your question about the stent. It did relive the symptoms and cleared the jaundice.

Finger's crossed  your mum will be suitable for this procedure . Do you know why your mum may not be able to have the stent,  for my mum the worry was her weight and low bmi and not being strong enough to fight infections.  By the way she did pick up an infection after and got through it
