My wife has pancreatic cancer, she has received 8 treatments. For one reason or another she has not had a treatment for 16 days. I would have thought that things would improve but far from it. When she talks she sounds like a drunken person and is unintelligible, she cannot walk she shuffles with a range of about three metres, she weighs 110 pounds and cannot get out of her chair or bed without help. Is this normal ?
Hi
I'm sorry to read that your wife's condition is worsening and I know what a worrying time this must be for you. Have you spoken to her CNS recently? If not I'd encourage you to phone them today so that your wife's condition can be reviewed. If you can't get through to her CNS then it would probably be a good idea to speak to her GP.
Let us know how you get on
Her chemotherapy has been suspended. Her GP has arranged a medical assessment with district nurses and a review for palliative care at home is being arranged. A specialist nurse has commented that something else is happening that requires urgent investigation.
I'm glad to hear that your wife's condition is being investigated.
Take care
