did it ever really go away...guess I've had a year feeling relatively ok...n got back to work full time last September...but fast forward to my annual check and they pressed the pause button again...an undefined 2cm something found...another week another pet scan...and confirmed it's back...a 2cm glow in the dark tumour on the cut surface of my pancreas (op site after whipple)...guess my results that looked so good after the op...weren't quite as good as we hoped.

once again...it doesn't look like its spread ...so now waiting for an appointment to see the oncologist (radiotherapy and chemo were discussed at MDT meeting)...now will you please hurry up and give me an appointment and discuss it with me!...lets get this treatment started!   (already waited 2 weeks I'm getting stressed)

good news...its still treatable....

bad news...cos its recoccured once already odds of it reoccurring again are now even higher so I'm guessing I'm in a holding pattern now until body says enough!

so...fight this bugger...again...then live life to the full until....who knows Fingers crossedFingers crossedFingers crossed

  • Hi Rox

Sorry to hear your news. This naughty cancer does seem to hang about the body. But good news it’s still treatable and let’s hope you get on your new regime quickly. Let us know how you get on.

  • Hi Rox55, so sorry to hear that it has come back.  This is my biggest fear.  I do hope that something has been started for you in this uncertain time with the coronavirus.  Would be great to hear how you get on, at least it has been caught early so you stand a better chance.  Just remember that you did this once and I am sure you can do it again.  If you don't mind my asking how long ago was your first op, if that is what you had.

    Take care and stay positive.

Hi...well I was quickly rediagnosed and scanned...but it's been a bit hurry up and wait since then...but...they have put me forward for SABR  treatment so that's a bonus...o go to Guildford next Thursday (7th May) if it doesn't get postponed again...for my initial appointment and to be scanned and tattooed ready for the radiotherapy Fingers crossed

I was first diagnosed July 18....had folfironox chemo from Sept to end of Dec ...then they operated the end of Feb 2019...my initial results were brilliant and they decided no top up chemo was neededThinking..in hindsight it might have prevented this...but hard to say in reality whether it would have or not ThinkingThinkingThinking?

to be fair at my original diagnosis I was classified as T4 inoperable so the fact the folfironox worked as well as it did was a definite bonus....the op was hard...but I was only in hospital 8 days in total...and I got back to work full time 6 months later so I'm did much better than was originally feared

I've heard good things about the SABR  so just want to get it started...and then get back to work x

I hope you remain well and it doesn't reoccur...good luck Thumbsup

    Rox55,

I hope you are doing well and ready to fight again. Would you mind telling me what your first symptoms were? Did you initially go to the Dr for symptoms or were elevated liver enzymes found on routine bloodwork? I went to the doctor for something completely different and had bloodwork and ALT was 84 and total bilirubin was 2.2! Had a CT scan yesterday and will hopefully get results on Mon. I’m only 39 yrs old, 105 lbs and and am panicking and shocked. I thought it would turn out liver disease (even that would shock me) but now reading about pancreatic cancer and scared even more. Please let me know if you had any symptoms.

  • Thumbsup you take care too and good luck with the SABR
