After having a 35cm ovarian cyst and a full hysterectomy 3 weeks ag.
I just spoke to MacMillan specialist nurse and advised me the cyst was Stage 1A it was a mucinous Adenocarcinoma (it’s quite rare) - they got everything out and thankfully don’t need Chemo but I have to have the camera down throat and upwards as this type could effect stomach or appendix (they checked appendix whilst operating and this was fine)
I’m seeing the gynaecologist on 9/7
if the stomach etc… ok will it be just follow ups going forward to check
Hi MitchM1326
Welcome to the Ovarian group.
Mu own cancer was endometrial so I hope it is ok to reply but I had the same surgery as you in 2022. I hope that you are recovering ok from your hysterectomy.
It sounds promising that the cancer was caught at a very early stage. My own cancer was also a rarer type and I know it can be worrying to be told this.
Hopefully once you have had the endoscopies completed they will be able to confirm whether you need any further treatment or any further monitoring. In the meantime why not give the Macmillan Support Line a call and talk to one of the nurses who may be able to confirm the likely next steps for you.
I wish you well for your continued recovery from the surgery and hope the further checks can be done quickly for you.
Jane
